Anthony Pandy to Arizona: Three-star linebacker signs with Wildcats

The fast rising linebacker is heading to Tucson

Anthony Pandy became one of the hottest linebackers in the West in December. In a few weeks he picked up offers from Arizona, Washington State, Fresno State, and Boise State.

The 6-foot-2 220 pound Narbonne High School (Harbor City, CA) linebacker visited Arizona on January 13 and thoroughly enjoyed it.

“It went great,” he said afterwards. “Everything stood out to me. There’s just positivity everywhere.”

The following weekend he took an official visit to Boise State, but Arizona didn’t have to wait long for him to pull the trigger. Pandy committed to the Wildcats on January 24.

There was a point that he was waiting on an Oregon offer, which would’ve led to a commitment to the Ducks. However, after a couple of months of contact with Oregon’s staff, no offer came.

Pandy had himself an explosive senior season, racking up 125 tackles, 22.0 TFL, 11.0 sacks, 2 INT, 10 PBU, 3 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. His performance led to him being named the City Section Division 1 Defensive Player of the Year. Over the three years of his Gaucho career Pandy recorded 327 tackles, 66.0 TFL, 36.0 sacks, 2 INT, 13 PBU, 9 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries.

Pandy is an extremely versatile backer. He is strong, powerful, and has great vision. Because of his versatility, he could play all three linebacker positions in the Wildcat defense. I see him fitting in at either STUD or Mike backer the best.
