Arizona football recruiting: Wildcats offer defensive linemen Cameron Murray, Jay Tufele and Greg Rogers

Arizona looking to add more size, offers three top 50 defensive tackles for 2016

Arizona has five commits set to go for 2016, with only one being on defense in Justin Holt, a 6-0 300lb defensive tackle. Rich Rodriguez is going after more size in the trenches, recently offering three defensive linemen. Arizona has reached a new level of recruiting, as all three defensive tackles are ranked in the top 50 at their position.

Cameron Murray

We'll start with 3-star defensive tackle Cameron Murray. Ranked 48th among all defensive tackles and 10th overall in the state of Arkansas, he holds offers to Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech and North Texas. At 6-2 280lbs, he's the ideal size for Arizona. His junior year highlights are below.

Jay Tufele

The best defensive tackle of this trio is Jay Tufele. A 4-star recruit, Tufele is ranked No. 1 in the state of Utah, No. 4 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 46 overall regardless of position. He holds offers to BYU, Louisville, Oregon State, USC, and Utah, among others. He also comes in at 6-2 280lbs. Out of these three defensive tackles, Arizona probably has the best chance to land Tufele. Although, it might not be saying much considering the time remaining in this recruiting period. His junior year highlights are below.

Greg Rogers

The last offer goes to 4-star Greg Rogers. Ranked No. 6 in Nevada, No. 15 defensive tackle and 179th overall, Rogers holds offers to Arizona State, UCLA, UNLV, and Utah, among others. He has a bigger frame than both Murray and Tufele, standing in at 6-4 280lbs. His junior year highlights are below.

We'll see junior college transfer Anthony Fotu for the next two years. Marcus Griffin can also crack the rotation on the defensive line and Parker Zellers was a pleasant surprise this past year. Rich Rodriguez has always said he likes the size of Sharif Williams, he just needs to fully recover from his ACL injury he suffered in high school. Aside from those three, there won't be a whole lot of experience on the defensive line next year, making the defensive line a top priority in recruiting this year.
