Arizona will continue to recruit Frank Jackson despite mission trip

Sean Miller not backing down in pursuit of a top ranked point guard

One of the top point guards in the nation, Frank Jackson, has decided to hold off on college basketball to complete his two-year mission trip as part of his LDS faith. Originally a member of the 2016 recruiting class, Jackson will now enter college in 2018, making him a 20-year-old freshman.

The 6-3, 180lb point guard is ranked 4th at his position, 25th overall. Jackson has narrowed his list down to 10 schools, with Arizona and Duke as the clear favorites. He hails from American Fork, Utah, the same hometown as Brendan Bailey, who was just offered by Arizona last week.

Some of Jackson's highlights are below.

Jackson believes that the two years will give him more time to mature and develop his skills. Some schools have been hesitant to recruit Jackson once he tells them about his mission trip, but not Arizona. Sean Miller understands how great Jackson will be come two years down the line.

He plans to end his recruiting process prior to leaving for his mission trip, so he can focus on his faith and basketball. He plans to take official visits to both Arizona and Duke sometime this summer.
