How to watch the Lute Olson statue unveiling
Thursday’s event is not open to the public, but you can still catch all the action
A statue of legendary Arizona Wildcats basketball coach Lute Olson will be unveiled on the north side of McKale Center on Thursday afternoon, as the University of Arizona honors the longtime coach for nearly three decades of basketball excellence.
In 25 seasons at Arizona, Olson posted a 589-187 record, reached the NCAA Tournament 23 consecutive times, including four Finals Fours, and won 11 Pac-12 titles, 7 Pac-10 Coach of Year awards, and of course one National Championship.
Olson, now 83 years old, also produced 32 NBA Draft picks while at Arizona, and coached 19 All-Americans, several of whom will be in attendance at Thursday’s unveiling, which is scheduled to take place from 4-6 p.m. PT at the Eddie Lynch Pavilion.
While the event is not open to the public, you can live stream it at http://pac-12.com/live/university-arizona or on the Pac-12 Network’s Facebook page.
The actual ceremony will begin at 4:30 p.m. PT and will include remarks from Olson, Arizona athletic director Dave Heeke, and other high-profile guests.
It should be a memorable day for the Arizona basketball community, so don’t miss out!
