Arizona football injury report: Nick Wilson out vs. Stanford, Brandon Dawkins, Anu Solomon not listed
Is Anu Solomon healthy enough to play now?
The bye week has evidently helped the Arizona Wildcats refresh.
The team’s injury report for Saturday’s Homecoming game versus Stanford has been released, and the list of names is far shorter than what we’re used to seeing.
Here’s the full report:
Probable: OL Freddie Tagaloa (knee)
Questionable: WR Tyrell Johnson (hamstring)
Doubtful: None
Out: DL Sani Fuimaono (concussion), RB Nick Wilson (knee)
The biggest names not on the list are quarterbacks Brandon Dawkins (concussion, ribs) and Anu Solomon (knee).
Dawkins appears to be healthy and therefore will likely start Saturday. Solomon’s name being omitted is interesting because while he did practice with the team for the first time last week, Rich Rodriguez didn’t say anything to make it seem as though he’s close to returning to game action, though.
Maybe he was playing it close to vest and Solomon has a chance to play, though I personally wouldn’t expect it.
Of course, starting running back Nick Wilson, who Rodriguez said has a long-term injury, will not suit up against the Cardinal, and it’s not clear when (or if) he’ll return this season.
Defensively, it’s a pretty clean bill of health for the Wildcats, though starting defensive lineman Sani Fuimaono is out with a concussion.
Fuimaono left the USC game two weeks ago after taking a hit to the head, and said he was fine after the game, but it appears the injury is still affecting him.
The Wildcats (2-5, 0-4 Pac-12) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak against the Cardinal (4-3, 2-3 Pac-12) this Saturday.
Kickoff at Arizona Stadium is set for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
