Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona with 12th-best back court in country?

How good will the guard play be?

The Arizona Wildcats are quite deep this year, and this certainly includes the back court. College Basketball Talk is releasing a bunch of previews, and they have Arizona’s back court as the 12th-best in the nation:

The Wildcats have quite a bit of talent in the back court even with Terrance Ferguson’s departure for Australia. Allonzo Trier, Rawle Alkins and Kobi Simmons are all big time talents. The question is going to be how they fit together on the floor at the same time. Are there enough shots to go around?

- The top team on that list, Duke, may have suffered a huge loss to that group as Jayson Tatum sustained a foot injury at their “Pro Day”

- CBT also put out their Pac-12 preview, and picked Arizona to finish second behind Oregon

- UCLA has a good freshman class coming in, but one of those freshmen, Ike Anigbogu, is out 4-6 weeks after tearing the meniscus in his right knee

- Gregg Popovich tells Steve Kerr to go urinate in a bucket whenever Kerr asks him anything

- This week’s Twitterbag had a lot of basketball in it

Football

- Gronk can be my Lyft or Uber driver whenever he wants

- Stanford has lost corner Alijah Holder for the rest of the year

- Washington State’s offensive line has been one of the best in the country this year

- Texans fans have started a GoFundMe to buyout Brock Osweiler’s contract

- Arizona players in the NFL are starting to do better after getting off to a slow start

Baseball

- Terry Francona and the Indians are up 1-0 in the World Series after taking down Jon Lester and the Cubs by a score of 6-0. Francona is now 9-0 in World Series games

- Francona sought out the advice of a Phillies beat writer when he was first breaking into the managerial business

- Kenny Lofton threw out the first pitch at the game. He only got there in time because a guy gave up his seat on the flight

- It seems like Arizona will have another Boston Red Sox draft pick at third base this year in the form of Nick Quintana

Other sports

- Go to the soccer game Thursday, because they’re selling beer, and it’s half-price tickets for Greeks

- On Sunday, soccer has Senior Night. Here are their thoughts on their time at Arizona

- Women’s golf finished second at the Pac-12 Preview, just three strokes behind ASU

- Men’s golf is in sixth place after two rounds at the Saint Mary’s Invitational. George Cunningham is third on the individual leaderboard

- Penina Snuka was named the 9th-best setter in the country
