Khalil Tate to Arizona: QB recruit signs with Wildcats, already enrolled

Khalil Tate is already on campus and ready to compete

The Arizona Wildcats landed one of the most electrifying dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation with Khalil Tate. When you think of Rich Rodriguez using his prototypical quarterback, Khalil Tate fits the mold. He's been labeled as an athlete by most recruiting services and recruited heavily by some of the top programs in the nation as an athlete, but insisted on playing quarterback.

This was a big time get for the coaching staff. Khalil Tate verbally committed back in March and was a huge recruiting tool for Arizona. He was able to get guys like Devaughn Cooper, JJ Taylor and many more to commit, serving as the brand ambassador for the class.

There was a lot of speculation as to whether Tate would stick with Arizona, especially when he started talking to USC and sending tweets that way too many people overanalyzed. During my end-of-year recruiting roundups, that was always the hot topic, Khalil Tate's status, to which I had no worries.

Khalil Tate is a game-changer and his accolades certainly back that label up. He was named Daily Breeze Offensive Player of the Year, Team MVP for Junipero Serra and First Team All-USA California. He didn't turn 17 until late October, making him one of the youngest senior starting quarterbacks in high school, if not the youngest.

While I think Anu Solomon has Rich Rodriguez' trust, serving as the starter throughout his Arizona career, Khalil Tate is going to be a guy that will be able to do great things when he sees the field. Although Solomon will be the likely starter, you can still expect to see Tate at the helm, because in two seasons as the starting quarterback, Solomon has not been able to start/complete six games, plagued with injuries.

Because of his dual-threat nature, people will want to assume that his accuracy doesn't match his speed. But for Tate, that's simply not the case. He's the complete package that will devastate a defense either way. If anything, I think Tate is too confident in his elusiveness and will take off more times than necessary, but that's not exactly a problem when you have Rich Rodriguez running the offense.

To put all of this simply, Khalil Tate is the future of Arizona Football.

His senior year highlights are below.
