Tristan Cooper to Arizona: 2-star safety signs with the Wildcats

He could add some much-needed help to the secondary

The secondary was one of the weak spots for the Arizona Wildcats in 2015, but hopefully some help is on the way. One of the incoming additions to that unit is 2-star safety Tristan Cooper from Andress High School in El Paso, Texas.

Cooper had offers from Illinois, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Purdue, Texas Tech and hometown UTEP.

At 6-foot-1, Cooper does have decent size for his position, though, like most incoming freshman, he'll have to add some weight to his frame. He's also a former wide receiver, but he really impressed coaches from around the country after he made the change to safety.

You can see if you agree with the coaches:

The thing that stood out to me was his tackling ability. It appears as if he likes to go for bone-crushing hits, but at the same time, does do a good job of wrapping up as well. Sometimes you see safeties being so focused on laying someone out that they forget to actually tackle the guy.

This is obviously limited film, but you can see why Arizona's staff was impressed. Hopefully we see similar things from him as a Wildcat.
