Jacob Colacion to Arizona: OLB recruit signs with Wildcats

"Excited to play for coach Rich Rod and contribute."

The 61st-ranked OLB in this year's class, Jacob Colacion (3-star), has signed with the Arizona Wildcats.

Colacion is from La Habra, California and will be graduating from La Habra High School this spring. He had 13 offers with some notables coming from Boise State, Northwestern and Washington State.

What made Colacion's recruitment process interesting is that he only officially visited one school, Arizona. I got a chance to talk with him and he said this about only visiting Arizona: "I was sure that Arizona was the only place for me. I wanted to show respect to Arizona that I wasn't considering any other schools."

He was originally recruited to play for Jeff Casteel but Casteel has left the program and replaced by Marcel Yates. When asked about the coaching switch, Colacion said that he was looking forward to playing for Coach Casteel but he feels comfortable with Yates as the new defensive coordinator and is looking forward to playing for him.

At the end of our conversation he told me that he is most excited to, "Officially be apart of something like Arizona." He continued by saying that he's, "Excited to play for Coach Rich Rod and contribute."

Here is his junior year highlight film for some perspective on what Arizona will be getting from Colacion.

As you can see he is a very dynamic and explosive talent and we are excited that he is now officially a Wildcat.
