Arizona football: Scooby Wright and Cayleb Jones named preseason first-team Pac-12 by Athlon Sports

Nine Wildcats in total get a preseason honor from the site

Athlon Sports revealed their preseason All-Pac-12 selections for the 2015 season, and both Scooby Wright III and Cayleb Jones brought in first-team honors.

Three more Arizona Wildcats find themselves on the second team, with Nick Wilson, Drew Riggleman and William Parks landing there. Reggie Gilbert and Anu Solomon are third-teamers. Freddie Tagaloa and DaVonte' Neal round it out as fourth-teamers. Neal got the nod as a specialist, not as a defender or receiver.

Last season, Scooby Wright did almost everything you can do as a linebacker in college, and picked up every major defensive award possible. It won't be a surprise to anyone if Wright gets some Heisman consideration this year after putting up 14 sacks, 29 tackles for loss, and six forced fumbles in 2014.

Cayleb Jones led Arizona in receiving last year, totaling 1,019 yards on 73 catches. His production dropped off towards the end of the season as he was dealing with a hand injury, and Anu Solomon was dealing with his ankle injury.

The one guy on this list that has the best chance of moving up throughout the season is Cal transfer Freddie Tagaloa. By all accounts, he's an absolute beast on the offensive line, and could prove to be the most valuable addition to the team in 2015 after sitting out last year due to transfer rules.

Arizona opens the 2015 season on September 3rd vs. UTSA.
