2015 NBA Draft: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson works out for the Lakers and discusses NBA future

The shimmy in Hollywood? Sounds fun

After working out with the Boston Celtics last Monday, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson worked out for the Lakers this Monday. He is the third former Wildcat to workout for the Lakers, as T.J. McConnell and Brandon Ashley have both done so as well.

Rondae's draft stock has believed to have risen lately as DraftExpress.com now has the forward going 15th to the Atlanta Hawks.

If that's case, the Lakers are somewhat out of Hollis-Jefferson's range. LA has picks #2, #27, and #34 and he won't be drafted second overall, but should be picked higher than #27. That being said, it's always possible that a team decides to trade up for a player.

When asked where he has heard he may be drafted, Rondae answered with a smile "It's a wide range. Anywhere in the first round."

As far as the workout goes, it's no secret that Rondae is trying to show teams that his jumpshot is improving.

"From my freshman year in college to now, it has gotten a lot better, so they (NBA front offices) know I can get better at it," he said after the workout.

Even though his jumper may not be great, Rondae believes that his ability to score and create for others in transition is the best part of his offensive game. He also mentioned that he's working to become better off the dribble too.

Nonetheless, he knows his defensive ability will be his strength at the next level. "I feel like being able to come in and slow guys down contributes to any team. So I feel that me being able to play defense and being really good at it is a big help to any team. I see that being my calling card." he said.

Since Rondae was working out for the Lakers, it was inevitable that Kobe Bryant was going to be brought up at some point, and RHJ says that Kobe's "killer mentality" is something he wants to have when he's on the court too.

On a lighter note, Rondae said he's been asked by teams in interviews why he does his famous "shimmy" before free throws."Comfortability. Confidence. Men lie, women lie, but numbers don't," he joked. "When I started doing it my percentage went up."

Does he plan to keep doing the shimmy? "Oh yeah, of course," he responded.

You can breathe a sigh of relief, shimmy advocates.
