Arizona in the mix for 3-star defensive end Jake Burton

A big time defensive end who could end up in Tucson

Arizona has been hitting the recruiting trail hard when it comes to defense and there's one name to keep your eye on and that name is Jake Burton, 3-star defensive end out of Granite Hills (El Cajon, CA).

He holds offers to Boise State, California, Fresno State and Washington State, among others. He's ranked 44th among all defensive ends and 90th overall in the state of California.

I got a chance to talk to him about his recruitment process and what he likes about Arizona.

"Going great and I'm enjoying every minute of it with all of the coaches and schools interested", Burton said.

He's talked to quite a few coaches on the defensive side of the ball and plans to visit sometime in July. "I'm very excited about Arizona and they are definitely one of my top choices", he added.

There is no timetable, but he would like to commit sometime before the start of his senior year, either in late July or early August.

He would provide much-needed size on the defensive line at 6-5 250lbs. Arizona hasn't had size on the defensive line for quite some time, making Burton a huge building block for the future. He would be joining 2016 commit Justin Holt, 6-0 300lb defensive tackle.
