The 6-foot-4 sophomore averaged 11.9 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.5 rebounds this season, shooting 49 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3.
Wertz has two years of eligibility left and will have to sit out the 2020-21 season barring a successful waiver request and/or NCAA rule change.
Among the transfers still interested in Arizona are San Francisco grad transfer guard Charles Minlend and Purdue grad transfer Matt Haarms, who included Arizona in his list of 10 finalists on Saturday.
