It won’t be long before we know where one of Arizona’s top recruiting targets is heading, though UA fans might not like the decision.
Four-star guard Kerwin Walton will announce his college decision on April 25, he told Stockrisers. The Wildcats are one of six finalists, and while they have previously been viewed as the favorite by those in the industry, a new prediction from Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi has Walton picking North Carolina.
It’s worth noting that the Tar Heels just freed up a scholarship when Brandon Huffman announced his transfer.
Late night news: Kerwin Walton has set his decision date for April 25th, he told @Stockrisers. His finalists: Creighton, Arizona, North Carolina, Minnesota, Georgetown and Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-4 Walton is the No. 97 player in the 2020 class and just one of the few high-school recruiting targets left on Arizona’s board, the other notable one being five-star forward Ziaire Williams.
After the departure of Josh Green to the NBA Draft, Arizona has four scholarship slots to fill. Walton, known for his shooting, could come in and compete for minutes on the wing from the get-go.
Walton should be aware of that after Zeke Nnaji, his former teammate at Hopkins High, tore it up as a freshman and is now on his way to the NBA after one season despite being a four-star recruit.
