Dusan Ristic shines in second outing of Portsmouth Invitational

The Arizona big man has had mixed results through two games

Arizona Wildcats center Dusan Ristic traveled across the country this week to participate in the annual Portsmouth Invitational in Virginia.

The 12-game tournament features some of college basketball’s top seniors as they prep for the next step in their careers.

Ristic, who is playing for the Norfolk Sports Club, has had mixed results through two games.

On Thursday, he had 5 points and 7 rebounds on 2-8 shooting in 14 minutes off the bench.

On Friday, he poured in 14 points and 7 rebounds on an efficient 7-11 shooting. He played 20 minutes and made his first start as Norfolk picked up a 114-102 win, its first of the tournament.

At one point Ristic scored three baskets in a row.

The PIT is an important tournament for players like Ristic. Not only are the top five players invited to the NBA Combine, but scouts from all across the globe are there making their evaluations.

So hopefully Ristic can have another game like he did Friday and put himself in a favorable spot moving forward.

His last game is Saturday at 1 p.m. EST. Ristic is on the same team as ASU’s Tra Holder and Colorado’s George King.

The box score from Ristic’s first game can be found here. The second can be found here.
