Arizona football: Wildcats given 100/1 odds to win the Pac-12 Championship Game

So, you’re saying there’s a chance?

After a 3-9 season in 2016, expectations are low for the Arizona Wildcats in 2017.

Bovada released its Pac-12 conference championship odds this week and the Wildcats come in at 100/1.

Only the California Golden Bears — at 500/1 — have worse odds than Arizona. The Oregon State Beavers are also at 100/1.

The Rose Bowl champion USC Trojans were deemed the favorites to win the Pac-12 Championship Game at 10/11, while the Washington Huskies are right behind them at 9/5.

Here are the entire odds for the Pac-12:

USC Trojans — 10/11

Washington Huskies — 9/5

Stanford Cardinal — 8/1

UCLA Bruins — 9/1

Oregon Ducks — 16/1

Washington State Cougars — 16/1

Colorado Buffaloes — 33/1

Utah Utes — 33/1

Arizona State Sun Devils — 50/1

Arizona Wildcats — 100/1

Oregon State Beavers — 100/1

California Golden Bears — 500/1

Arizona’s schedule shakes out favorably in that it doesn’t have to face Washington or Stanford this season, who were chosen to be two of the top three schools in the conference.

However, if the final standings wind up reflecting Bovada’s odds, Arizona would come in last place in the Pac-12 South for the second straight season and, in all likelihood, would be looking for a new coach the end of the season.

Rich Rodriguez is widely considered to be on the hot seat, with many believing that a 7-5 season, at minimum, is needed to save his job.

It’s safe to say the oddsmakers at Bovada probably wouldn’t bet on Arizona reaching that win total.
