Sonoran Hot Reads: Mark Melancon signs four-year deal with Giants
The first former Wildcat to make the big bucks
As contracts continue to increase in Major League Baseball, we’ve finally seen the first former Arizona Wildcat to really cash in. Mark Melancon, who has recorded an MLB-leading 98 saves over the past two seasons, became the highest paid reliever ever (for now) by agreeing to a four-year deal worth $62 million with the San Francisco Giants. This leaves the Nationals looking for different options. Props to Melancon on getting that money though. His turnaround is quite the story
