College basketball rankings: Arizona falls to 20th in AP and Coaches Poll

Hanging on to that poll streak now

With a loss to the Gonzaga Bulldogs under their belt, the Arizona Wildcats fell further down the rankings this week, but not all the way out.

Arizona is now 20th in the AP Poll and in the Coaches Poll.

This is the 86th consecutive week that Arizona has appeared in the AP Top 25.

After defeating the Kentucky Wildcats this week, the UCLA Bruins have jumped up to No. 2 in both polls, right behind defending champ Villanova Wildcats.

As far as other western teams go, the Oregon Ducks are the only other Pac-12 team in the rankings, checking in at No. 24. Don’t look now but Saint Mary’s is also highly ranked, hanging just outside the top ten.

Other Pac-12 teams receiving votes are USC, Cal, and Colorado. The Trojans are still undefeated this year, so they’re starting to gain a little attention as well after beating BYU in the second game of the HoopHall event in Los Angeles this weekend.

Arizona returns to the floor on Tuesday when they host the UC Irvine Anteaters at 8 PM MT. That game will be shown on Pac-12 Networks.
