Arizona basketball: Week 1 of college basketball told to us by Friends GIFs
We recap the week in college basketball the best way we can... GIFs!
We’re not technically a week into the college basketball season but we’ve already had some of the best match ups of the season thanks to the Champions Classic and various tournaments to start the year.
And for this season, we’re going to shake up the weekly recap by doing it in GIF format because, frankly, who doesn’t like GIFs?
Arizona Starts 2-0
But then we remember Allonzo Trier is still MIA and we have a bench the size of Rhode Island.
Kansas tops Duke on buzzer beater
Could the 24-hour Tip-off Marathon have ended any better? Thanks guys. Let’s hope this carries on throughout the season. Also, we’re gonna have a new number one team. Let the madness begin.
Kentucky blitzes Sparty
Woah, didn't see that 21-point win coming. If basketball was scored by how many different people scored, Michigan State would have won, though. Small victories, right?
Kentucky fans right now
Say hello to the likely number one overall team in the nation.
Michigan State fans right now
It COULD be better in East Lansing.
Indiana and Kansas ended 103-99?
Did both coaches agree to only play four defensive players at a time?
Arizona beats Michigan State on a buzzer beater
But...
Wildcat fans trying to convince themselves everything is okay even without Trier and Michigan State fans doing the same about their lack of a front court.
UConn falls to 0-2
It’s okay, they've likely got a guard who will get super hot in March and lead them to a title. (They’ve lost to Wagner and Northeastern. Perennially feared teams...)
Oregon lackluster in season opener
Without Dillon Brooks, is Oregon the league favorite?
Nobody can slow down UCLA
The Bruins are averaging 110.5 ppg so far this season. So ‘hot’ is an understatement.
Defending champs Villanova sweating out a win vs. No. 15 Purdue
Probably not the margin of victory the Wildcats were looking for.
North Carolina isn't having any trouble to start the year
But is anyone surprised? The Tar Heels are averaging 95 points per game.
Wisconsin falls to Creighton
And not a tear was shed in Tucson.
St. Francis scored only 32 versus Virginia
It’s good to know with all the craziness in the world, the Cavaliers’ defense is still making teams look foolish.
Yale dropped 98 on Washington
Well, that just doesn’t make any sense.
Games to see this weekend:
- No. 17 St. Mary’s at Dayton
- No. 21 Rhode Island vs. No. 24 Cincinnati
- Yale at No. 8 Virginia
