VIDEO: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson displays his improved jumper and discusses his future in the NBA
Rondae's jumper is looking a lot smoother lately
It's assumed that Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will be an impact defensive player in the NBA from day one. It's the reason why he's virtually a lock to be selected in the first round.
It's the offensive end where he's seen as a question mark, especially due to his lack of shooting range and ability. I stumbled across this interview and workout video from DraftExpress.com, and it appears as though Rondae has smoothed out his shooting form.
While at Arizona, he had a bit of a hitch in his shot. However, from the clips in this video, it isn't nearly as pronounced as it once was:
Rondae will have a long way to go before he's even a respectable three point marksman, but if he impresses teams with his improvement in workouts, it'll be interesting to see how high he could rise in the draft. He did make 71% of his free throws this past year at Arizona, and that may also serve as hope for prospective teams that he can become a better overall shooter.
Nonetheless, according to WildcatAuthority.com's Joseph Duruaku, the forward has a workout scheduled with the Boston Celtics already. The Celtics have the 16th pick in the draft (as well as the 28th) and ESPN's Chad Ford has them selecting him 16th in his mock draft.
Aside from just improving his shooting ability, Rondae mentions that he's also working to improve his ball-handling and that he sees himself being a player that brings energy to his team both on and off the court.
