Arizona Football Recruiting: Wildcats offer 3-star defensive end Evan Weaver
Arizona continues to heavily pursue defense for 2016
Rich Rodriguez and gang typically make their big recruiting push in the summer, particularly June, which explains all of the recent offers by the coaching staff. The Wildcats currently hold the 46th ranked recruiting class, composed of four recruits on offense and just one on defense.
Arizona has made the defensive line concerns their main priority, offering three of the top defensive linemen in the country just a few weeks ago. The trend continues, as Arizona offers Evan Weaver, 3-star defensive end out of Gonzaga Prep (Spokane, WA).
Weaver checks in at 6-3 230lbs, ranked 52nd among all defensive ends in the nation and 10th overall in the state of Washington. He holds offers to Boise State, California, Utah, and Washington, among others. Washington is currently seen as the front runner to land Weaver, as he's already taken two unofficial visits last fall. He also took an unofficial visit to Boise State in April.
Going forward, Arizona is going to need a lot of help on the defensive line, especially considering the loss of 5th year senior Reggie Gilbert in 2016. Rich Rodriguez is still in the mix to land any of the three linemen mentioned above, as well as Boss Tagaloa, who has Arizona in his top 12 schools. Expect Arizona to continue recruiting defensive linemen heavily.
