Arizona football recruiting: Wildcats offer 4-star safety Eric Burrell

Working out of a 3-3-5 defense, safety is a much needed position for Arizona

In a pass-happy Pac-12, a reliable secondary is pivotal. The Arizona Wildcats have now reached out to a top safety for the class of 2016 in Eric Burrell.

Eric Burrell is a 4-star prospect out of McDonogh School (Owings Mills, MD), ranked 16th among all safeties and 10th overall in the state of Maryland. Coming in at 5-11 170lbs, he could be the perfect successor to William Parks.

This is just his second offer west of the Mississippi River, holding offers to Duke, Nebraska, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Virginia among others.

Arizona will be losing Will Parks, Anthony Lopez and Jamar Allah after this season, leaving a huge gap in the secondary. Arizona does have some youth from the 2015 recruiting class in early-enrollee Devon Brewer, who will later be joined by Demetrius Flannigan next spring.

Eric Burrell's junior year highlights are below.
