Arizona doesn’t receive any votes in first AP Top 25 poll

Arizona isn’t on anyone’s radar heading into the new college basketball season.
The Wildcats did not receive a single vote from 65 media members in the first AP Top 25 poll that was released Monday. Four other Pac-12 teams did and three are in the Top 25, with Arizona State (18) leading the way and Oregon (20) and UCLA (22) following closely behind.
The Stanford Cardinal received the eighth-most votes among teams outside the Top 25.
This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise as the Wildcats are a huge mystery after adding 10 newcomers—six of whom hail from different countries—and losing 85.6 percent of their scoring from last season.
Not even Sean Miller could provide much info about his team on media day in late October.
That isn’t to say Arizona won’t be good this season, just that it will have to work its way into national prominence, which could be a good thing for a program that is used to being in the spotlight.
