Jace Whittaker is getting another shot with the Arizona Cardinals.
The former Arizona Wildcats defensive back was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad on Saturday in time for Sunday’s tilt with the Miami Dolphins.
We have made the following roster moves:
— Arizona Cardinals (@AZCardinals) November 7, 2020
▪️ Activated TE Maxx Williams from the injured reserve/designated for return list
▪️ Elevated RB D.J. Foster and CB Jace Whittaker to the active roster from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements
Whittaker was promoted in Week 1 as well, but was demoted after playing 11 snaps on special teams.
In not-so-good news, former UA running back J.J. Taylor has been ruled out of the Patriots’ Monday night showdown with the New York Jets due to an illness. (Taylor isn’t on the COVID-19 restricted list, so he has not tested positive for coronavirus.)
Taylor was active last week for the first time in four weeks but didn’t see any action. The undrafted rookie was productive in the first three weeks of the season, carrying the ball 16 times for 70 yards.
Patriots placekicker Nick Folk is questionable due to a back injury. The former Wildcat has not missed a field goal or extra point since Week 2.
