Grace VanSlooten is latest elite recruit to list Arizona among finalists
The Arizona women’s basketball team has made the cut for another highly-ranked 2022 prospect, this time four-star forward Grace VanSlooten.
The 6-foot-3 Ohioan is the No. 16 player and No. 5 forward in her class, per ESPN’s rankings. Her other finalists are Duke, North Carolina, Gonzaga, Baylor, Oregon, UCLA, Michigan, Clemson and Arizona State.

VanSlooten attends Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. As a sophomore she averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while scoring from all three levels.
“Stretch-4 prospect with superior length in the front court,” reads her ESPN scouting report. “Drains the jumper with range to the arc; quick, versatile defender, competes on the glass, rebounds and handles in transition; a hybrid-4 game, mismatch producer; continues rapid development as an impact prospect at the next level.”
VanSlooten told 247Sports that she’s looking for a school that “has a family atmosphere, good leader, like as a coach, and a competitive team.”
Arizona checks all those boxes.
The Wildcats don’t have any 2022 commits yet (it’s early), but these elite prospects have already listed them among their finalists:
- 5-star point guard Kiki Rice (No. 6 overall)
- 5-star forward Maya Nnaji (No. 8 overall)
- 5-star point guard Aaliyah Gayles (No. 9 overall)
- 4-star shooting guard KK Bransford (No. 27 overall)
