With a 4-8 overall record, 2-7 mark in Pac-12 play and season-ending seven-game losing streak, nothing went right for the Arizona Wildcats as a team. Individually, though, there were a few bright spots.

In fact, four UA players were included on Pro Football Focus’ all-season teams, two on the Pac-12 squad and two on the all-freshman team.

Redshirt junior running back J.J. Taylor was named the third-team Pac-12 running back despite a 2019 season that saw him miss time with injuries. Despite missing one game and getting only one carry in another, Taylor finished with 721 yards and five touchdowns to go with 32 receptions for 289 yards and 19 kickoff returns for 448 yards.

Taylor’s 1,458 all-purpose yards ranked third in the conference.

Also on the all-conference team was redshirt junior Lorenzo Burns, an honorable mention at cornerback. Burns had four interceptions and 11 total pass breakups this season, his pick total tied for most in the Pac-12.

Pro Football Focus’ all-freshman team was loaded with players from teams that are playing for conference championships this weekend or are getting prepared for a bowl game, but among its honorable mentions were a pair of Wildcats.

Quarterback Grant Gunnell and cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace were listed on the team. Gunnell threw for 1,239 yards with nine TDs and one interception in eight appearances, completing 65.2 percent of his passes, while Roland-Wallace had 37 tackles, an interception and four pass breakups.
