Arizona football: Safety Chacho Ulloa enters transfer portal

A second Arizona Wildcats football player has decided to leave the program since the 2019 ended last weekend.

Safety Chacho Ulloa has put his name into the transfer portal with the intent to finish his career at another school. The news was first reported by Jason Scheer of WildcatAuthority.com.

Ulloa, who was listed as a senior and participated in Arizona’s Senior Night activities on Nov. 23, only appeared in three games this season and just one in Pac-12 play. By staying under the four-game limit he is eligible for a redshirt, and assuming he graduates before the 2020 season he’d be able to play immediately.

A 3-star prospect in the 2016 recruiting class, the Corona, Calif. native appeared in 22 games at Arizona with one start, starting at the bandit position in the 2018 Territorial Cup. For his career he had 18 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, along with a forced fumble and a blocked kick.

Redshirt freshman linebacker Day Day Coleman announced his departure on Sunday, one day after Arizona lost 24-14 at ASU to finish 4-8 with a seven-game losing streak.

All told, five Wildcats have left the program at some point since the summer. The others were wide receiver Thomas Marcus, tight end Jake Peters and linebacker Maurice Gaines.
