Rawle Alkins no longer has an agent and hasn’t signed with Raptors yet, per reports

However, the situation “likely gets sorted out”

Shortly after the NBA Draft concluded, it was reported that Rawle Alkins had agreed to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Toronto Raptors as an undrafted free agent.

Alkins is suiting up for Toronto’s Summer League team in Las Vegas, but hasn’t actually put pen to paper with the organization yet, according to Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic.

So Alkins can technically sign with any team at this point, though Murphy tweeted that Alkins situation with Toronto “likely gets sorted out.”

Interestingly, as Murphy noted, Alkins does not have an agent right now. He reportedly hired Dan Frank and Jarinn Akana of Dynasty Sports Management during the pre-draft process, but evidently is switching representation. The reason is unclear, though perhaps it’s because Alkins went undrafted despite being listed in virtually every mock draft.

While Alkins does not need an agent to sign with an NBA team, it’s beneficial to have one since they are more privy to the ins and outs of the business side of basketball — and as an undrafted free agent, Alkins is in a more precarious situation than say a first- or second-round pick whose rights are owned by an NBA team.

Through two Summer League games, Alkins is averaging 7.0 points in 11.5 minutes.

If you are unfamiliar with Exhibit 10 contracts, we outlined them here.
