Rawle Alkins throws down vicious reverse dunk in successful Summer League debut

The Raptors were blown out, but Alkins shined in limited playing time

It only took one game for Rawle Alkins to break out his signature dunk at NBA Summer League.

The former Arizona Wildcats guard had 12 points, including a vicious breakaway reverse slam, in his debut with the Toronto Raptors in Las Vegas.

The dunk looked just like the one he threw down against Oregon State. The Thomas & Mack Center crowd was in awe:

The Raptors lost 90-77, but it was a successful outing for Alkins.

In just 14 minutes, he was 4-for-9 from the field, made two 3s, and collected six rebounds. His 12 points for tied for the team lead, and he didn’t check in until the third quarter.

Alkins signed an Exhibit 10 deal with Toronto, which is essentially a training camp invite with some guaranteed money thrown in. So every performance like the one he had Friday goes a long way toward securing his place in the NBA.

Hopefully for his sake, there are more to come. Alkins and the Raptors resume play in Las Vegas on Sunday at 12 p.m. PT.
