The former UA guards will square off in the Las Vegas Summer League title game

A pair of former Arizona Wildcats will square off in the Las Vegas Summer League Finals on Monday, as Gabe York (Los Angeles Lakers) and Nick Johnson (Portland Trail Blazers) won their respective semifinal games Sunday.

York had seven points in the Lakers’ 108-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks. He played just six minutes, but knocked down five free throws down the stretch to help the Lakers advance to the championship round.

“They don’t get all the glitz and the glory but they won us that game,” Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma said of York (and Matt Thomas) after the game.

Brandon Ashley had 13 points and four rebounds for the Mavericks on 6-11 shooting.

Ashley finishes Summer League averaging 10.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game on 47.2 percent shooting (31.2 percent from 3).

Johnson played 19 minutes for Portland in its 87-82 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, and had a rough day, going scoreless with six turnovers.

Kobi Simmons had four points on nine shots in 14 minutes for Memphis. The guard finishes Summer League averaging 4.2 points per game on 25.6 percent shooting (0-7 3PT).

The title game between York’s Lakers and Johnson’s Blazers is set for Monday at 7 p.m. PT on ESPN.
