Arizona Wildcats in the NFL: Scooby Wright returns to the desert, signs with the Cardinals

Scooby is on his way back to Arizona plus Earl Mitchell continues to be a force on the Dolphins’ defensive line

Week 14 was a strange one in the NFL. There were a lot of former Arizona Wildcats in action as well. There was also some big news about one former Wildcat on Tuesday morning.

Here is the latest surrounding the Wildcats in the NFL:

Brooks Reed, LB/DE (#50), Atlanta Falcons

2016 Stats: 19 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Reed had a solid game Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. He recorded three tackles in a 42-14 annihilation of the Rams. The game was so bad for the Rams they fired Jeff Fisher the next day.

Nick Folk, K (#2), New York Jets

2016 Stats: FG: 21-for-24 with a long of 51 yards; PAT: 20-for-22

Folk was a perfect 3-for-3 in field goal attempts Sunday. He made two field goals from 30-39 yards and finished the day with a 50-yarder. The Jets ended up defeating the San Francisco 49ers 23-17 in overtime.

Earl Mitchell, DT (#90), Miami Dolphins

2016 Stats: 11 tackles and 3 TFL

Mitchell had a decent game on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. In a game in which there were five total turnovers committed by both teams in the first quarter and torrential downpours, Mitchell recorded two tackles and was once again a force along the line of scrimmage. Miami converted a last minute field goal and won 26-23.

Robert Golden, S (#21), Pittsburgh Steelers

2016 Stats: 34 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 PBU

Golden finally recorded stats after going two weeks without any. He finished the Steelers’ 27-20 win over the Buffalo Bills Sunday with two tackles.

Ka’Deem Carey, RB (#25), Chicago Bears

2016 Stats: 31 car, 125 yds, 0 TD; 5 rec, 55 yds, 0 TD

Carey did see the field against the Detroit Lions, but only in limited action. He only had two yards on one carry in Chicago’s 20-17 loss to Detroit.

Marquis Flowers, LB (#53), Cincinnati Bengals

2016 Stats: 7 tackles

Flowers did not record any stats in Cincy’s 23-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Will Parks, S (#34), Denver Broncos

2016 Stats: 15 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PBU

The rookie safety did not record any stats in Denver’s 13-10 to the red hot Tennessee Titans.

Trevin Wade, DB (#31), New York Giants

2016 Stats: 17 tackles and 2 PBU

Wade did not record any stats in New York’s 10-7 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Nick Foles, QB (#4), Kansas City Chiefs

2016 Stats: 36-for-55, 410 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT

Foles did not play in the Chiefs’ 21-13 win over the Oakland Raiders.

Scooby Wright III signs with the Arizona Cardinals

Scooby is coming back home to Arizona. The Cardinals are signed Wright to their active roster on Tuesday morning.

Wright, a seventh round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, was previously on the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad. The former All-American has yet to play in an NFL game.
