Sonoran Hot Reads: Two Arizona commits named to All-State team

Drew Dixon and Jalen Harris are two of the best in Arizona

With the high school season over, AZCentral released its All-Arizona high school teams on Sunday. There are plenty of names that we’ve seen pop up as targets of the Arizona Wildcats coaching staff, but there are also two current commits on the list in Drew Dixon and Jalen Harris. Here’s what they had to say about Dixon:

UA commit was a quadruple threat for 3A runner-up team, passing for 1,177 yards, running for 901 yards and catching 47 passes for 564 yards, accounting for 43 TDs. Also averaged 34 yards a punt with seven of his 20 landing inside the 20-yard line.

And then Harris:

Arizona commit had 8.5 sacks and 15 QB hurries in 10 games, playing one of state's toughest schedules.

- Will they make it to National Signing Day though? Arizona lost another one on Sunday when Darrian McNeal unexpectedly flipped to Oregon. It might be because Willie Taggart was turnt at the Ducks’ basketball game

- One former commit that has been out of the picture for a little bit now, Elijah Watson, is heading to Miami (Ohio)

- And former player Jonathan Haden is going to be part of the UAB revival

- Speaking of Oregon basketball, the Ducks just got by Alabama. At least they didn’t go full Washington and lose to Nevada at the buzzer. ASU beat San Diego State though

- GCU comes to Tucson for the first time since starting the D-1 transition, and Arizona could (and should) make a return visit to Phoenix
