Cal State Bakersfield vs. Arizona: How to watch the Wildcats and Roadrunners

The viewing info for Arizona’s first home game of the year

After a dramatic, last second-win over the Michigan State Spartans on Friday, the Arizona Wildcats return to Tucson for their first home game of the 2016-17 season on Tuesday night.

The opponent? The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners, who also won their opener. It was a 96-54 decision over San Diego Christian. SDCC is an NAIA school, and that team was involved in a fiery bus crash after this particular loss.

Here is how you can watch UA and CSUB on Tuesday night:

Last year, the Roadrunners from Bakersfield made their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after upsetting New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament final on a three-pointer with just 0.4 seconds on the clock. After beating the Aggies, 15-seed CSUB drew 2-seed Oklahoma, and only lost to the Sooners 82-68 in a first round game in Oklahoma City. This was Oklahoma’s closest game of the tourney before losing to eventual champion Villanova in the Final Four. CSUB was within four points of OU with just four minutes remaining.

Bakersfield returns three starters from that team: Dedrick Basile, Jaylin Airington, and Damiyne Durham. All three of them scored in double-figures in the team’s opener on Saturday. They are the backcourt, so it’ll be up to Arizona’s guards and small forwards to contain these three.

When you look at CSUB’s roster, you’ll see former Mississippi State center Fallou Ndoye on there. The 6-foot-11 transfer from Senegal will not be eligible until December. Otherwise, Moataz Aly is their tallest player. The Egyptian measures in at 6-foot-9. Aly went to Hutchinson CC just like Keanu Pinder and Kadeem Allen.

Arizona is a 17.5 point favorite, which seems reasonable. This will be the first of two games for the Roadrunners against teams that were in last year’s tournament. CSUB will play Fresno State next Wednesday.
