Arizona basketball: Allonzo Trier won’t play vs. the College of Idaho amid suspension rumors

This doesn’t seem good

Amid rumors of a season-long suspension, Allonzo Trier will not suit up when the Arizona Wildcats take on the College of Idaho in their first of two exhibition games on Tuesday night.

Arizona head coach Sean Miller was asked about Trier’s playing status Monday, to which he had no comment.

There are several internet rumors out there — including one from ESPN employee and UA alum Corey Williams — that Trier could be facing a season-long suspension, and Arizona has yet to make a comment on it.

That said, Trier being held out of Tuesday’s exhibition doesn’t seem like a step in the right direction for his playing status.

Trier averaged 14.8 points per game as a freshman, and Miller said in September that he believes the guard could have a “big, big year” in his second season in the desert.

Of course, that can only happen if Trier is actually able to suit up.

The Trier-less Wildcats tip off against the College of Idaho on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in McKale Center.

Rawle Alkins will start in Trier’s place.
