Arizona basketball: Wildcats ranked 10th in preseason AP Poll

A top-ten ranking to start the season

For Halloween, the AP gave us a treat by releasing its college basketball preseason rankings, and the Arizona Wildcats have found themselves in 10th.

At the top of the rankings are the Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks, Villanova Wildcats, and Oregon Ducks.

Arizona opens the regular season against the Michigan State Spartans on November 11th. Tom Izzo’s squad is ranked 12th in this preseason poll. A couple of other future opponents are right there as well; the Gonzaga Bulldogs are 14th, and the UCLA Bruins are 16th.

Several other Pac-12 teams are receiving votes. Cal is essentially ranked 29th, Colorado is 41st, and Washington is 45th.
