Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona softball holds Halloween practice

Captain Jack has never swung a bat so well

As you may or may not have heard, Halloween was on Monday. This meant that the Arizona softball team held a practice/Over the Line tournament in full costume, and the results are amazing. Shoutout to Michelle Floyd in her J.J. Watt attire, and Tamara Statman for making this catch even though her Hillary Clinton mask was flying off

- Alyssa Palomino was out there as well after recovering from an ACL tear she suffered in the team’s first practice last fall

- Women’s tennis also got it done with the Halloween costumes

Basketball

- The Wildcats meet College of Idaho later on Tuesday night. Here’s the TV and streaming info for you to watch the game live

- Will Allonzo Trier play? Well, we’re not sure

- We are sure that Arizona will be ranked 10th in the AP Poll when the game starts

Football

- Next weekend’s home game against Colorado will be another 8 PM local time start

- This weekend’s opponent, Washington State, has a chance to go to the Rose Bowl

Baseball

- As we linked to yesterday, Terry Francona ate a ridiculous amount of ice cream after Game Four of The World Series. Well, Cleveland-based Pierre’s Ice Cream hand delivered a “World Series Survival Kit” full of ice cream to the Indians’ clubhouse

- James Farris and Scott Kingery will be playing for the East team in the Fall Stars Game Saturday night at Surprise Stadium. Michael Kopech and Willie Calhoun are on the West team

- Kingery was 3-for-4 for Scottsdale on Monday to raise his fall average to .261

Tucson news

- In Nogales, a man was arrested for trying to smuggle methamphetamine across the border in hollowed out stacks of tortillas

- TUSD teachers are refusing to work extra hours as a protest regarding Prop 301 money. A strike may be coming
