Sonoran Hot Reads: Arizona/Michigan State to be a battle of freshmen classes

A lot of new players will be playing for both teams on Veteran’s Day

When the Arizona Wildcats and Michigan State Spartans meet in Hawai’i on November 11th, the logos and guys on the sideline will look familiar, but the people on the court deciding the game will not. Arizona could conceivably have three starters that weren’t in Tucson a few months ago, and Michigan State is boasting the best recruiting class of Tom Izzo’s career. This will add another level of intrigue to the season opener for both fanbases, and should make it even more fun to watch

Football

- J.J. Taylor did not get to play very much, but is still on Pro Football Focus’ true freshmen to watch

- According to Pacific Takes, the Territorial Cup is the 12th-best game remaining in the Pac-12 regular season

- The Pac-12 Cross Country Championships will be taking place at Randolph North Golf Course Friday morning. I saw a little bit of the course when I was out running Thursday night and it seems like it would be a good event to attend if you can

- Men’s tennis is competing in the San Diego Invitational this weekend

- The softball homecoming game is happening at noon on Sunday
