Arizona football recruiting: Decision dates, new offers and high honors

Checking in with some of the football staff's main targets

There's been quite a bit of recruiting news for the Arizona Wildcats, so it seems appropriate to wrap it up in a new recruiting roundup. Nothing too big, but still worthy of being shared.

There's going to be a lot of recruiting news and updates throughout the summer so if there's anything you would like to know specifically, leave the suggestions in the comments or hit me up on the Twitters.

Elijah Blades update

His decision date could be June 12th, maybe, he's unsure. It now looks like Arizona and Florida will be joined by Nebraska as a finalist for his services. Nebraska is a pretty strong threat here simply because of the hype surrounding the program right now and all the strong recruiting they've done.

Chris Brooks receives high honors at The Opening

The 3-star athlete made it out to The Opening Oakland Regional this weekend and came out with a huge award...he was named wide receiver MVP. That's huge considering the amount of talent that was there.

He says that Arizona wants him more in the slot as a receiver, which is something that I figured might happen. This means that the Wildcats would be in the market for another running back in this class.

Cody Shear sets decision date

The 3-star offensive lineman out of Oregon has a decision date. I mentioned him in the comments before and feel like Arizona has a decent chance, although I might give Oregon State the edge here and Washington State is supposedly a finalist.

Odua Isibor receives new Oregon offer

Keeping it in the state of Oregon, 3-star defensive end Odua Isibor just picked up an offer from Oregon this week, adding to his ever-growing collection of offers. He's probably the hottest prospect in the state of Arizona, but Jalen Harris is giving him a run for his money. I feel like the Wildcats have a good chance to land him, but this is going to be a big fish to reel in with Texas A&M and USC also in the mix.

Jalen Harris update

The Desert Ridge (Mesa, AZ) standout recently took a visit to Iowa State and really enjoyed it. He appreciated the love that the coaching staff is showing him, making him a priority in their recruiting class. He also likes how the Cyclones are a developing program. Sticking to the Big 12, Oklahoma is starting to show some interest in Harris, so things could continue to blow up for him. Michigan, Oregon and USC have also started to express their interest.

Kylan Wilborn is good at shot put

Arizona's 3-star outside linebacker/defensive end commit put in some work at the Track and Field CIF Championship. He broke the Notre Dame school record in shot put.

New 2018 quarterback offer

As if having Brandon Dawkins, Khalil Tate, Braxton Burmeister and Rhett Rodriguez weren't enough, Arizona extended an offer to another quarterback for the 2018 recruiting class in Mike Penix

Joseph Lewis and Greg Johnson receive Alabama offers

Some big time offers for two big time players. This might be something to watch out for. They've said that they want to play together at the next level and teams are now certainly doing their homework and offering them both.
