Arizona softball: Kellie Fox walkoff sends Wildcats to Super Regional
So many emotions
It happened twice in one day. Minnesota hit home runs in the 7th inning against Arizona to take the lead. Twice.
And yet, the Wildcats still found a way to get past the Golden Gophers and into the Super Regional.
We'll ignore the first game, because it all came down to the second game Sunday night at Hillenbrand Stadium. The Gophers' Taylor LeMay hit a three-run home run in the top half of the seventh to put Minnesota up 6-4.
But that wasn't stopping Arizona from getting out of its own regional.
Katiyana Mauga led off the bottom half of the inning with a nice little single to bring up Chelsea Goodacre.
And Goodacre went boom.
A two-run shot out to left field tied the game up at six.
The Cats had a chance to end the game there, having runners on first and second with no outs, and then a runner on third with two down, but a nice catch by left fielder Paige Palkovich sent the game to extras.
Michelle Floyd allowed the first two Minnesota batters to reach base in the 8th, and Trish Parks reentered the game, taking over in the circle after pitching the first 1 2/3 innings of the game.
The freshman Parks recorded three-straight outs to keep the game tied for the perfect part of the lineup in the bottom half of the 8th.
Arizona will send three seniors to the plate in the bottom of the eighth. Hallie Wilson. Chelsea Suitos. Kellie Fox.

Wilson grounded out to the pitcher, but Suitos followed that up with a triple. The first of her career. Damn good time for your first-career triple.
That brought up Kellie Fox, and well, that would do it for the Tucson Regional.
Fox hit a single through the left side, bringing home Suitos, and ending play at Hillenbrand for 2015.

Arizona advances to the Super Regionals, and will have to travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers. Arizona and LSU met in last year's Tucson Regional, where the Wildcats disposed of the Tigers in a very similar manner to Sunday's action.
Win two games in Baton Rouge, and Arizona advances to its first Women's College World Series since 2010.
