Arizona Basketball Recruiting: Damion Lee passes on Arizona for Louisville

The roster is nearly set

The number one graduate transfer is off the market. Earlier today, Drexel's Damion Lee announced via Twitter that he'll be going be joining the Louisville Cardinals in his final year of eligibility:

With Stanley Johnson expected to announce his decision to enter the NBA Draft, Lee was seen as a prime candidate to replace Johnson in the starting lineup. The 6-6 forward averaged an impressive 21.4 points per game this past season.

But now that Lee is out of the picture, incoming freshman Ray Smith appears to be the natural fit to start at the three this year if Sean Miller wants a traditional small forward. It's also certainly possible that Miller goes with three guards alongside Ryan Anderson and Kaleb Tarczewski too, since the roster is loaded with talented backcourt players.

With that being said, Arizona still has a couple scholarships to offer and since the frontcourt depth is still a bit thin, it's likely that Arizona will now make San Francisco's Mark Tollefsen, another graduate transfer, their top priority.
