Arizona Football Recruiting: 3-star linebacker Jacob Colacion receives offer

Checking in on Arizona's latest offer

Arizona has been able to pull in some pretty solid recruits at linebacker, as well as develop their own fair share. Arizona landed the 4-star linebacker duo out of Salesian High School (Los Angeles, CA) in Marquis Ware and Jamardre Cobb back in 2013. They were also able to get the most of out guys like unranked Jake Matthews, 2-star Cody Ippolito, 3-star Derrick Turituri and of course, 2-star Scooby Wright III.

Arizona's latest offer went to 3-star linebacker Jacob Colacion out of La Habra, California. He now holds offers to Boise State, Illinois, Indiana, and Washington State, among others. He is currently unranked among all recruits in the nation, as well as all linebackers.

Colacion is a big-hitting outside linebacker who can drop back into coverage. He also gets a few reps playing up top at safety. His junior year highlights are below.

Depsite Arizona's success on the field, they're still pursuing the OKG's with the hard edge mentality. This has worked the past three years for Arizona, as we've seen records of 8-5, 8-5 and 10-4 without a top 30 recruiting class.

Yes, Arizona has the capability of going after the 4-star guys and we've seen that with Keenan WalkerDevon Modster and a few others over the last few years, but it's perfectly fine for Rich Rodriguez to continue to reach out to these undiscovered guys because they are guys he's worked best with. A strong blend of recruits can go a long way for this program.
