One of the top players in the 2021 recruiting class has offers from more than a dozen schools and is also considering a jump straight to the pros. That’s a lot of competition for his services, yet the Arizona Wildcats have managed to stand out among the pack.

Per Rivals.com, Arizona is one of five schools that 5-star combo guard Jaden Hardy said is one of five schools that have “made him a priority” during the past several months despite the ban on in-person contact. And like many of the Wildcats’ 2021 targets, their newest assistant appears to have something to do with that.

“I like Arizona a lot,” Hardy told Rivals. “I’m really close with Jason Terry, so it was great when he joined the coaching staff. I like a lot of the players they got there right now like Dalen Terry, I’m really close with him.”

Kentucky, Michigan, Oregon and UCLA are the others standing out for the 6-foot-4 Hardy, who is ranked fourth overall by 247Sports. From Henderson, Nev., Hardy is considered the top combo guard in the country and the No. 1 prospect from Nevada.

A pair of 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictions have been made for Hardy to end up at Kentucky—“really all the coaches have been saying during this time is that I’m one of their top guys they’re focused on right now,” he told Rivals—but no decision is likely until 2021.

And it might not even be college. Hardy told Rivals the G-League is another option, though he wants to wait to see how top 2020 prospects like Jalen Green and Daishen Nix fare on the elite team before deciding if that’s his path.
