Ryan Luther sinks game-winner to lead Herd That past The Money Team, Nick Johnson in TBT

Former Arizona Wildcats forward Ryan Luther sank the game-winning layup to lead Herd That past Nick Johnson and The Money Team in the Round of 16 of The Basketball Tournament on Thursday.

Luther slipped to the basket after setting a screen and laid in a tough contested shot over an outstretched defender to give 23-seed Herd That a 102-99 comeback victory after they had trailed 7-seed The Money Team by as many as 18.

TBT uses the Elam Ending in which the game clock turns off in the fourth quarter and the first team to reach a particular score wins. In this case, it was 101.

Luther and Herd That, mostly a collection of former Marshall players, are now on to the Elite Eight where they will face No. 2 seed Overseas Elite or No. 15 seed Armored Athlete on Saturday, July 11 at 2 p.m. ET.

The winning team of TBT will divvy up a $1 million prize.
