The Arizona Wildcats managed to put together a top-5 recruiting class for 2020 despite having only two players committed before April. They’re hoping the 2021 class comes together a little sooner, though so far the pledge list is empty.

Maybe not for long, however.

Zaon Collins, a 4-star point guard from Las Vegas, has Arizona in his final four along with Pac-12 rivals ASU and USC as well as hometown UNLV.

The 6-foot-1 Collins is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 40 player in the 2021 recruiting class, as well as the fifth-best point guard and No. 3 prospect from Nevada. His teammate at Bishop Gorman High School, 4-star shooting guard Will McClendon, is committed to UCLA.

Collins told Eric Bossi of Rivals.com that he could pick his school without seeing it, though he would prefer to take official visits before making a decision. USC is the only school he had checked out among his finalists before in-person recruiting was shut down by the coronavirus pandemic in March.

Here’s what Collins had to say about Arizona:

They stand out because they are always big in the Pac-12. They produce a lot of pros and I have (a) good gut feel for (Sean Miller) and the coaching staff. I feel like that the stage they are on is really big time and that they could help me produce.

Here are some of Collins’ highlights:
