The 4-star point guard appears to be a Stanford lean

The Arizona Wildcats landed a point guard on Saturday in the form of Estonia’s Kerr Kriisa. Will they add another one Tuesday?

Not likely, but anything’s possible, I guess.

Four-star guard Isael Silva will be announcing his college decision on April 21, and the Wildcats are believed to be in the running simply because they hosted him on an unofficial visit in September.

The 6-foot-3 Sacramento native has not released a list of finalists, but all nine Crystal Ball predictions believe he is Stanford-bound. He would be another nice addition for Jerod Haase and company, who recently beat out Arizona (and other schools) for five-star forward Ziaire Williams.

Silva is the No. 32 player and No. 4 point guard in the 2021 recruiting class, per 247Sports composite rankings. This is what he had to say about Arizona, according to ZagsBlog.com.

“Sean Miller and coach Justin Gainey are the two I talk to the most,Coach Miller’s message is about the pedigree of point guards they’ve had, his belief in me that I can do the same and he’d love to coach me because he was a point guard himself. He talks to me about what Nico Mannion was able to do this year and tries to encourage me that way.”

Obviously it’s worth noting that Gainey is no longer with the Wildcats, as he left the program a couple weeks ago to be the new associate head coach at Marquette. That, plus the fact Arizona just added a player at Silva’s position, only makes his commitment to the UA even more of a longshot.

Still, here is what the folks at 247Sports have to say about him, along with some highlights.

Good size for position with okay length. More point guard quick than innately athletic but changes speeds well. Has plus ball skills. Well-rounded offensive game for position at this stage. Can hit threes off catch and pull, has stepbacks and pull-ups from midrange and finishes with both hands at basket. Terrific vision and creative passer. Gets by with savvy and feel on defense. Will need to keep getting stronger and improving against athleticism. Currently projects as starting point guard for winning team at high major level with NBA upside.
