The Arizona Wildcats didn’t have anyone taken in the 2020 WNBA Draft on Friday night, which was a given after Aari McDonald opted to return for her senior year of college. But at least one former UA standout is getting a shot at a pro career whenever sports happen again.
Dominique McBryde, who wrapped up her Wildcat career in March, has inked a deal with the Los Angeles Sparks to participate in their preseason training camp.

McBryde, a 6-foot-1 forward, averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds in 25 games (23 starts) in 2019-20. As a junior she averaged 7.1 points and 4.8 rebounds, and in her two years with the UA after transferring from Purdue she shot 40.2 percent from 3-point range.
No dates have been set for WNBA preseason, or the 2020 regular season, while the WNBA and all other sports leagues figure out when it will be safe to resume activity amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
