His head coach? Stephon Marbury

After two seasons with Guangzhou Long-Lions, Kyle Fogg is heading to another side of the Chinese Basketball Association. The former Arizona Wildcats guard has signed with the Beijing Royal Fighters, according to Sportando’s Emiliano Carcha.

The Royal Fighters play in the Northern Division. The Long-Lions play in the Southern Division. The Royal Fighters are coached by former NBA All-Star and CBA legend Stephon Marbury.

Fogg, 29, averaged 34.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and 2.11 steals per game with the Long-Lions last year, the second year of a $2 million deal. The Royal Fighters went 8-38 last season, last in the CBA, so they certainly can use his production.

Fogg graduated from Arizona in 2012, and has also played professionally in Finland, Belgium, Germany, and Spain. He won the EuroCup in 2017 as a member of Spain’s Unicaja and won a G League championship in 2013 with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Fogg also won four straight The Basketball Tournament championships (and lots of prize money) with Overseas Elite, who finally saw its reign end this summer without Fogg on its roster. (Surely, that cannot be a coincidence.)
