Wildcat Wrap: Arizona basketball’s 2019 recruiting class ‘ready to get to work’

Arizona Athletics
Softball
- Former Arizona ace Taylor McQuillin picked up her first NPF win.
- After finally getting back to the Women’s College World Series in nearly a decade, what does the future hold for the eight-time national champions? Our Kim Doss took a look.
- Sophomore outfield Taryn Young entered the transfer portal. So did two pitchers the Wildcats are expected to pursue.
Baseball
- We having been tracking whether or not Arizona’s MLB Draft picks have signed with their new clubs.
- Rising sophomore Austin Wells hit three homers in the Cape Cod League. In total, 16 Wildcats are playing summer ball, a full of list of whom you can find here.

Soccer
- The Davis Sports Center won’t just be a big boost for the UA football team, soccer will benefit too.
Men’s golf
- UA alums Jim Furyk and Nate Lashley finished tied for 28th in the U.S. Open, shooting one-under-par. Rory Sabbtini finished tied for 43, shooting two-over-par.
Women’s Basketball
- Tucson will be seeing a lot of coach Adia Barnes as her contract was extended through 2024.
- Incoming transfer Shaina Pellington will be playing for Team Canada this summer.
Football
- John Marinelli was hired as an offensive analyst after spending the last four years as head coach of Greenwich High School in Connecticut. He won the state title in 2018 and finished his career 36-10.
- Bill Connelly’s Arizona football preview is out, and he thinks Arizona could be just as streaky this season as it was last season.
- Arizona opened as a two-score favorite over Hawaii.
Men’s Basketball
- See why Andy Katz named Josh Green as the fourth-most important player in the Pac-12.
- Jabri Abdur-Rahim, a four-star forward and son of former NBA player Shareef Abdur-Rahim, was offered by UA.
- Devonaire Doutrive will be visiting San Diego State as he looks for a new school to play for after transferring out of Arizona.
- Allonzo Trier’s option for next season was picked up by the Knicks.
- Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors might’ve seen their dynasty come to an end after losing to Toronto in the NBA Finals.
- The ‘Cats are making 2020 point guard Daishen Nix a top priority.
- Six college basketball teams are set to be notified by the NCAA of Level I violations.
