Arizona offers 4-star forward Jabri Abdur-Rahim, son of former Cal and NBA star

The Arizona Wildcats remain without a commitment in the 2020 class, but that’s not for a lack of trying. They’ve offered 20 different prospects, the latest one with a strong basketball lineage.

On Saturday the Wildcats offered 4-star forward Jabri Abdur-Rahim, the son of former California Golden Bears and NBA standout Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

Abdur-Rahim is a 6-foot-5 wing from New Jersey who plays for prep school Blair Academy. 247Sports has him ranked 47^th in the 2020 class, second-best among NJ prospects and 13^th among small forwards.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim was the No. 3 pick in the 1996 NBA Draft, taken by the Vancouver Grizzlies after averaging 21.1 points and 8.4 rebounds as a freshman at Cal. He played 13 years in the NBA, averaging 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Arizona’s 20 offers include ones to 17 players ranked in the top 100 of the 2020 class. That includes 5-star point guard Daishen Nix, who recently said the Wildcats are one of the five programs prioritizing him the most.

Though Arizona doesn’t have a commitment for 2020, it technically has two players in that class in the form of transfers, Kentucky guard Jemarl Baker Jr. and Nevada forward Jordan Brown. Both must sit out the 2019-20 season per NCAA transfer rules.
