Omar Thielemans transferring to Wright State, per report
Former Arizona Wildcats commit Omar Thielemans is transferring to Wright State, according to Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.
The freshman joined the Wildcats in the summer, but announced his intention to transfer before the start of the season, ending his UA career before it ever started. However, he did continue taking classes throughout the fall semester.

Thielemans was an obscure prospect when he committed to Arizona last spring, not found in any recruiting databases, but was eventually given a low four-star rating by major recruiting services.
Thielemans, a 6-foot-7 forward, filled a need for Arizona at the time because it desperately needed bodies. The Wildcats had lost their entire starting five and had to scramble to form a recruiting class, after it was dismantled by the federal investigation into college basketball.
UA coach Sean Miller called Thielemans a “developmental player” and it became clear that he was never going to have a major role with the Wildcats, especially since they are set to bring in the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class next season, including two wings in Terry Armstrong and Josh Green. Plus, Dylan Smith, Brandon Randolph and Emmanuel Akot are all set to return.
Thielemans should get a chance to shine at Wright State, one of the top mid-majors in the country. The Raiders have won 20 or more games in five of the last six seasons.
It will be interesting to see if Thielemans suits up in the second half of this season or redshirts and debuts next season.
